Christmas is just a week away, and frankly, I can barely feel any Christmas spirit in me. I do feel cold though, what with our chilly weather lately.
Kidding aside, I do feel the Christmas Spirit every once in a while. Like I mentioned, the chilly weather really gets me into the mood for all Christmas-y stuff. Hot chocolate, puto bumbong, bibingka… mmm-mm! But what really gets me into the mood are the countless beautiful little lights scattered throughout our city. What used to be plain green bushes in Burgos Circle are now encrusted with tiny dots of golden lights. What used to be just regular green circles of traffic lights, are now shaped into Christmas trees.. Adorable.
Just a few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to witness one of the most Christmas-y displays in our country — Filinvest’s Christmas Musical Lights Show. The whole area of River Park was lined with majestic lights and the trees around we’re draped with curtains of sparkling lights all beautifully reflected in the running River. There was music, good food… perfect if you’re with great company.
Read more to see the photos and a little video I made. Be sure to watch in HD!
The Christmas Musical Lights Show lasts 15-20 minutes. You and your family can witness this everyday, every 30 minutes starting December 1 to December 30 from 6PM to 9PM. I really recommended that you do during this Christmas season, it’s a great bonding time with your loved ones and the whole place is lined with delicious restaurants with really lovely ambiance.
Aside from the majestic view and good food, Local artists have also been serenading the visitors since the launch of the event. Namely AMP Big Band, Jed Madela, Darren Espanto, and Up Dharma Down. You can still catch Jason Dy on December 19 and Nyoy Volante on the 26th!
If that’s not enough to feel the Christmas spirit, there’s also a Santa Corner where the kids (and kids at heart) can have a photo with lil’ ole Santa Claus. Ho ho ho!
