November 7, 2015 — SM MOA launched their Christmas season with a bang with an “Aca-Epic” Homecoming concert featuring the Filharmonic. Zedrik and I, along with others were fortunate enough to be invited in this glitter and confetti splashed event at the heart of MOA.
The event was opened and hosted by Andi Manzano-Reyes. She mentioned all the special things SM had in store for the Yuletide season and hyped up the crowd for a special guest who was coming other than the Filharmonic.
It was a shame that me and Zed weren’t able to get front row seats, we were late because of traffic (as usual), but you know, as a very photo OC blogger that I am, we didn’t stay in our cocktail table in the back. We walked around the concert area and captured every moment the best we can.
While the crowd was waiting for the special guest, the Filharmonic went out from under the giant Christmas tree and did a little photo op with the press. I haven’t actually seen Pitch Perfect 2 yet, so it was my first time to see them. Joe reminds me of our bunso, Udo. They both have chocolate-y fluffy cheeks which is absolutely adorable.
There was also this big white button, I guess that’s what they used to light up the majestic tree. Barry looks especially excited about it.
While all of this was happening, the special guest, a.k.a., Santa Claus arrived with his entourage and gymnasts and tall headed guards. All of the little kids in the atrium suddenly shared Barry’s demeanour. I mean, who wouldn’t? Even I got excited!
In the middle of all that excitement and people trying to get a selfie of Santa, little elves bustled out of the giant doors under the giant Christmas tree. Each of them held gifts for the audience, how cute is that?
After the cute little elves handed their gifts, Filharmonic went out once again. This time they do what they do best, and serenade their sweet remixed songs to the crowd.
The concert area and the area around it wasn’t the only place that was packed, even the upper floors were beaded with people who were also enthralled by the Filharmonic’s rhythm and tunes.
In the little corner of the concert area, watching the Filharmonic perform wasn’t the only joyful thing happening. These little kids were enjoying the confetti too. Ah the simple joys of a child! :)
Zed doing his thang.
For the concert, I went for a mature, subdued, clean, yet dressy look. Really loving this top I purchased from a bazaar.
Cha was also there, looking fresh as always, to watch the concert!
After listening to the Filharmonic perform, I felt the urge to watch Pitch Perfect 2. These boys must be so happy, being featured in a movie by doing what they’re most passionate about ♥
Of course, we wouldn’t pass up the chance to have a photo op by the giant tree.
Thanking SM MOA for throwing such a nice concert to celebrate the beginning of the Yuletide season and for featuring the Filharmonic. Props to these boys for embracing and proudly representing their Filipino heritage! ♥
